Millions of people come to Madina every year. Most see Masjid an-Nabawi, Quba, Uhud and the major Ziyarah sites — and then spend the rest of their trip close to their hotel.
It isn't their fault. The information simply isn't there in English, or it's scattered across a dozen places nobody has time to search through.
What we noticed
We kept meeting visitors who had no idea that two hours away is the Red Sea. Or that families rent private istirahas with pools for the day. Or that the desert an hour outside the city is one of the best places to see stars.
People would say the same thing every time: I wish I'd known.
