You don't need to have ridden before.
That's the whole point.
Most people arrive having never sat on a horse. An hour and a half later they're riding through open country outside Madina, on their own, in the quiet.
How it works
You're taught first. An instructor takes you through the basics on the ground — how to approach the horse, how to sit, how to hold the reins, how to start, stop and steer. Nothing is rushed and nobody puts you on a horse before you're ready.
Once you're comfortable, you ride out. Most of the time is spent in the open rather than going in circles in a paddock.

I did this session having never ridden before, and came away able to ride properly — not just sit on a horse while someone leads it.

I've genuinely never ridden. Is that a problem?
No. Most people who do this haven't. You're taught from the beginning.
Is it safe?
You're with an experienced instructor throughout, on horses used to beginners, and you go at your own pace.
